This rare ikebana is made by the award winning bronze artist Hasegawa Gasen (1901-1994). He belongs to the Yamagata school. His works were largely collected by the Japanese imperial household. He won prizes at the national Japanese exhibitions, Teiten and Nitten.
The works of Hasegawa Gasen are part of the Becker Collection and mentioned in the book: Twentieth century Japanese bronze flower vases.
The vase is 14 cm high, 20 cm wide, the opening is 7 cm and the base 7.5 cm.

In very good condition. This vase shows no signs of erosion.
