Jan Mankes (1889-1920)

Jan Mankes painted his daily environment in a calm and attentive way. The sensitivity and fragility of his works are sought-after by Dutch art lover, making Mankes known as 'Holland's most tranquil painter'. His oeuvre consists of less than 200 paintings and about 50 prints. Most of his works are in Dutch museum collections like Museum More, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and het Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.
